From 41 pedestrian bridges (JPO) in East Jakarta, not all of them get maximal lighting. Considering, the number of lamps supplied by Jakarta Industry and Energy Department is limited.

The problem is, quota from the department is 500 JPO's lamps, distributed evenly to 5 areas

"The problem is, quota from the department is 500 JPO's lamps, distributed evenly to 5 areas. East Jakarta is supposed to have most lamps. Since there are 41 JPOs in this area, but we only got 75 lamps. While each bridge has various number of lamps," said Head of City Lighting for East Jakarta Industry and Energy Sub-Department, Budi Basuki, Wednesday (12/16).

Budi told that the 75 units of lamps have been installed in all areas including Jatinegara, Cakung, Ujung Menteng. For maximal lighting, each bridge segment  needs one lamp.

"We anticipate it by installing 70-watt SON lamp, to make the bridge bight, at least the lighting is sufficient . Yet more save. SON lamp is road lamp not indoor lamp, so it must be bright. We have more stocks," he told.

He added, SON lamp installation will begin on December 21-31.
